Help us build Dorna.
Dorna is at the start. We are building a children's magazine, a literary journal, an art-donation programme, and a children's books initiative. None of it works without people who care, who can give a few hours, and who bring skills the foundation does not have on its own.
Where we need help
Pick what fits. You can volunteer for one role or several. Roles overlap and combine well.
Editorial
Read submissions, give feedback, copy-edit, help shape issues of Narvan Magazine and the children's magazine.
Translation
Translate stories, essays, and editorial copy between Persian, English, and Dutch. Even a single piece a month makes a difference.
Illustration & design
Cover art, internal illustrations, page layout for print, social-media visuals, occasional poster design.
Story times & workshops
Read aloud at libraries and community centres in Amsterdam, host short art workshops for children, help run cultural events.
Fundraising & outreach
Write grant applications, talk to potential partners, develop the donor mailing list, help us prepare for the ANBI launch.
Research
Find children's literature programmes worth learning from, scout writers and artists, gather references for editorial decisions.
Social & community
Run social-media accounts, write the monthly newsletter, build the volunteer community itself.
Something else

What to expect
Time commitment
From a few hours a month to a regular shift. Tell us what you can offer; we will match it.
Where you work
Most editorial, translation, design, and outreach work is remote. Story times and events happen in Amsterdam.
Compensation
Volunteer roles are unpaid. Necessary out-of-pocket costs (travel to events, materials) are reimbursed under our remuneration policy.
Who we look for
Anyone, any background, any age (minors with a guardian's co-sign). If you care about literature, art, and children, you fit.
