I've spent a big part of my life around things that reward going fast, bigger, sooner, more. That world produces a lot, but very little of it holds. What holds, I think, are the things people build together and then hand on. A foundation, a library, a small magazine, a reading group that meets on Fridays. Anything with a name and a purpose that can outlive the people who started it. I think they're the only real tool we have for changing anything, and I think we need far more of them, not larger ones, more of them, at every scale, doing narrow things carefully. Dorna is one of these. Small on purpose. I'd like there to be a thousand more, and for ours to be unremarkable among them.
